Overview
Melissa is a Ph.D. trained Neuroscientist & Bioengineer with additional degree certification in Technology Management. Prior to joining Nodes Advisors, Melissa completed her MSc. at Trinity College Dublin doing molecular neuropharmacology research, her Ph.D. at UCSB in the Janusonis lab where she built a neuroengineering platform that supports next-generation analyses of the serotonergic matrix, and a postdoc at Brown University researching oligodendrocytes. While completing her Ph.D., she was a prize-winning finalist in UCSB’s New Venture Competition where she spent a year immersed in start-up development, learning the ins-and-outs of company development, customer discovery, market validation, prototype development, and fundraising. As an innovation enthusiast, she brings a multifaceted approach to problem-solving and a deep-seated commitment to driving growth within the Life Sciences industry.
